As a baseball player, you only a small window of time that you get to make your impact on the game. Before you next baseball practice, consider that at some point you are going to have to “retire”. If your not in the small percentage of professionals, retirement is going to be sooner than later.

As we arrived early Friday night I had the chance to reminisce with my baseball buddies about our playing days. It was great to have a chance to kick back and relax on friends who shared the same passion as myself.

Living in the moment can be one of the most difficult things to do in life. It means being fully involved and appreciating everything that moment has to offer. Many people loose the moment by complaining about what the moment isn’t, instead of what it is.

We took the field on Sunday and we picked up right where we left off. We spent more time heckling our own team then we did our opponents and everyone played there part in the win. At the end of the day it was Alumni Baseball 10, and the current baseball team 4.

I had the rare opportunity to get together with my old teammates and reminisce about our playing days. We also had the opportunity to play the current University’s team and show them who was boss. Most of us hadn’t played baseball in a few years, but we still had two guys playing professionally which immensely helped our cause.

Shortly after we took the field everything started to fall back into place. This meaning that we began jeering our own team more than our opponents! However at the end of the day, the Alumni had came away victorious outscoring our opponents 10-4. Although it may not have been the highlight of my career, it is certainly a moment I will never forget on the baseball field. I challenge you to do the same for the rest of yours!
