Or will the benefits be revoked because of the possible “income” such as the food stamps or medical benefits being revoked because of the big amount on the lottery winnings?

  • Well, I don’t know the answer, but I can understand why a person on welfare should not be buying lottery tickets.

  • You would keep your winnings, and if they are large enough you would lose the welfare benefits.

If you win several million, WHY would you still want welfare?

  • I don’t know for sure if they would be revoked( I doubt it though).
I do know that when my fiancee passed away ,he left me some money in his life insurance. And SSD/I had me pay them back every month till it was all paid back.I tried to fight it saying it wasn’t “income” being it was a one time thing and that someone died. But they said it was income and had to be paid back.I wasn’t receiving any other benefits,so I don’t know about what would happen there.
