my mom is an avid lotto better without much luck but keeps on betting… I wonder is there a better way to her betting to increase chance of winning out of the million combinations.

  • The wisdom of crowds.

  • Of course, but if I told you I’d have to share the prize with your mother.

  • If there were, more people would be winning big, wouldn’t they? Mathematically, your chances in the “6 numbers out of 49” game are about 1 in 14 million. And if you do win, you usually get far less than 14 million dollars. In other words, it’s a losing proposition.

But: what I would do is only play on a great day, one on which everything is going great, and you (or your mother, in this case) feels emotionally fantastic. Why? Well, some people say that on a good day, everything seems to go well. I found a site that talks about these things, it’s called http://www.fortunesmiling.com (They focus on astrology, but also talk about other factors, such as emotions, etc, and how they relate to gambling, and finances.) But as far as the lottery is concerned (and there is an article about it at that site), the tremendous odds against you mean that even on the best day of your life, you probably won’t hit it big with the lottery.

Maybe true belief would help: if your mother could convince herself 100% that she will win the lottery, perhaps that would attract a win, but it might be really hard for somebody to convince him/herself of that, wouldn’t it?

  • Use high numbers, they’re more likely to be hit because they’re bigger.

  • The lottery is a tax on people who are bad at math………….. no there is no way to predict the outcome, the real winners of the lottery are the ones that don’t play. Show your mom these astronomical odds if she has not seen them already. If she doesn’t play these games check out the odds for those and I promise you they are not good.

none you can maximize, your chances but mathematically the predicted outcome (prize – money you pay for the ticket) is always negative. Derren Brown explanation was bs – just a way to amke people watch the show but it was absolute nonsene

  • NO, NO, and NO!!! Absolutely, positively not!!!

Sometime a guy comes on these forums talking about number analysis “systems” that he’s come up with. It’s all CRAP! (Here’s a hint – his name rhymes with “BadAdvice”!)

Here is WHY I’m right about “absolutely, positively not” being able to increase your mom’s chances of hitting the lottery jackpot:

Lotteries start with a 50% take on all the money. In other words, for every $100,000 the lottery companies take in, they only pay out around $50,000 to winning tickets! To put this into perspective, the worst casino game has around a 10 to 15% advantage over the player. Lottery = 50%!!!

YOU CANNOT OVERCOME A FIFTY PERCENT ADVANTAGE!!! Not with any sort of number analysis, not with a “system”, nor a book, website, prayer, computer program, psychic powers, or voodoo magic! None of those things will increase your chances even 1%!!! (Never mind the 50% you are trying to overcome!)

Simply put, playing the lottery is the WORST bet anyone could ever make. If she insists on playing, it should be for ONE dollar once in a while. For the cost of a dollar, it’s worth it to give her that dream of “hitting it big”. Any more spent than that is a total waste of money!

  • The notion “predict” is wrong used. You should to identify the winning numbers for the next time and it only you can do and only from one particular lottery you choose to work with
Yes. There is a time-proven way to identify these numbers when you work with previous draws from that lotto system. And again only you can do it.
