The Jonathan Hock documentary “Through the Fire” tracks the Coney Island product’s evolution from high school phenom to NBA lottery pick. Along the way, Telfair contemplates a scholarship offer from Rick Pitino at the University of Louisville, struggles with the violence of his Brooklyn neighborhood and consumes himself with the desire to get his family out of the projects. Having seen cousin and NBA star Stephon Marbury make it, Telfair knows big league dreams are within reach.
