Rachel played the same numbers each week and had set up a recurring payment to buy the ticket but on the day that she would have won, there were insufficient funds in her account and the transaction did not go through. Consequently, Rachel missed out on winning a jackpot of £182 Million.
Rachel played the same numbers with her boyfriend Liam.
They had played 6, 12, 22, 29, 33, 6 and 11 – for five weeks before those numbers came up on the 26 February 2022 draw.
They got in touch with Camelot and explained the situation but as you would expect, Camelot were not willing to honour the ticket as it was Rachel’s responsibility to ensure funds were available.
Being young, they have both managed to get over it and move on with their lives.
Rachel and Liam continue to play the lottery but perhaps they have had their luck and it is unlikely that lightening will strike in the same place twice 🙂
